Why would you want more fans?

Three reasons:

  1. More fans provide social authority. The higher your reader subscription, Facebook likes, Twitter followers, and fan count, the more the marketplace assume you are an expert—or at least an opinion leader. It may not be valid, but it’s the way things operate in a world where there is a ranked list for everything.
  2. More fans extend your influence. Social Media is a great tool for the spread of ideas. If you have ideas worth sharing (ideaviruses), you want it to spread to as many people as possible. Social media makes it ridiculously easy. The larger your reader subscription, Facebook likes, Twitter followers, and fan count, the faster your ideas spread.
  3. More fans lead to more sales*. You’re likely on Social Media for one of three reasons:
  • to be entertained,
  • to network with others, or
  • to sell your stuff

Whether it’s a brand, a product, a service, or even a cause, more  reader subscriptions, Facebook likes, Twitter followers, and fans provide the opportunity to generate more leads and more conversions.
